Office moves and office refurbishments

Our fourth part to finding “The right office interiors partner” highlights our golden rules for managing a stress free interiors fit out.  If you missed Part 1,2 or 3 of our finding “the right office interior partners” please click here to read our previous guides about experience & expertise, accreditation’s, turnkey solutions, insurances and health & safety policies.

An experienced interior fit-out partner will be able to identify your requirements and business needs  and ensure you receive a professional project managed service, which will result in your project being completed on time, on budget and exceeding all expectations.

On average, companies only move or refurbish every 5 to 7  years, meaning there is even more importance to make sure you choose the right interiors partner and receive the right solutions to meet your requirements now and for the future.

Consideration needs to be given if you are having any internal works e.g partitioning, suspended ceilings, flooring, to where your staff can be relocated internally or if you have the need to hire temporary space to ensure day-to-day business can continue.  It may also be necessary to allow for storage space of existing furniture and equipment whilst works are carried out.  Out of hours working is usually a good way to avoid any disruption to employees.

Your key equipment will need to be moved safely and quickly to your new set up, your designated project manager will be able to liaise with your ICT team to ensure a smooth transition.

Packing crates are freely available to hire. Office interior consultants will be able to organise this for you as part of their project management proposal, however if you decide to do this internally we would advise you label every crate with as much detail as possible and take the opportunity to de-clutter!

If construction waste, redundant furniture, packaging and general waste needs to be removed from site it’s a good idea to check your office interiors partners carry a waste removal licence or discuss the requirement for skip hire within your quotation.

Most importantly, make sure you inform your employees where and when they’ll be moving to their new work space.

Check back soon for Part 5 of our “Choose the right office interior partners” we will be giving you some hints on choosing the right furniture for your business.
